The Importance of EMI Shielding for Modern Electronics

Aluminum, steel, and copper are commonly used because these materials are rigid and strong. Thinner metals can potentially deform under excessive pressure from sealing. Once deformed, gaskets typically remain in their new shape, which allows for EMI to get in and out of the electronic device. Any amount of leakage could be detrimental to the operational output of devices.
